Santa Pola presents the World SUP Festival Costa Blanca, a major international event from April 24 to 26

Varadero Beach will welcome 250 athletes from 22 countries from April 24 to 26 for one of the major events in international paddle surfing.

Santa Pola is already counting down to one of the major events on the international SUP calendar. From April 24 to 26, Varadero Beach will host a new edition of the World SUP Festival Costa Blanca, an event that will bring together, for the moment, around 250 athletes from 22 countries and once again place the Alicante town at the heart of the global paddle surfing scene.

The official presentation of the event, held by Santa Pola Town Hall, highlighted both the sporting and social importance of a competition that continues to grow year after year. The festival will feature SUP Sprint, SUP Technical, SUP Long Distance, SUP Foil Downwind and Prone events, as well as 1 km and 3 km open races for those who want to take part in a more accessible format.

One of the most anticipated moments of the weekend will once again be the long-distance race to Tabarca, alongside the technical and sprint events, which also promise plenty of action for spectators watching from the beach.

The presentation also shone a spotlight on local talent, with the presence of two athletes from Club Deportivo Parres: Sergio Cantoral, world champion in the 100-metre sprint in Abu Dhabi, and Alexia Soto, junior world runner-up and team world champion.

Beyond the competition itself, the World SUP Festival will once again offer a programme open to the public, including free classes, dragon boat outings, activities for people with disabilities and a sustainable mile linked to environmental awareness. In addition, the event will once again run alongside the Feria Marinera organised by the Santa Pola Merchants Association, adding atmosphere, music and side activities throughout the weekend.

With this new edition, Santa Pola reinforces its position as one of the leading SUP venues in the Mediterranean and is getting ready for three days of competition, atmosphere and top-level sport.
