Melilla Crowns the Winners of the Second Stop of the European SUP League

Two days of intense competition see Alba Frey, Sergio Cantoral, and Christian Andersen crowned champions at the Triple S

The autonomous city of Melilla once again became the epicenter of Stand Up Paddle at the European level. The Triple S Festival hosted the second stop of the new circuit, the European SUP League.

Over two days of intense racing, the Spanish city located in North Africa welcomed some of the best paddlers from across the continent. In ever-changing conditions, the athletes put on a spectacular show for the crowd gathered at Hipica Beach.

The first day of competition featured the technical races, where Spanish dominance was evident. In the women’s category, Canary Islander Alba Frey secured her second consecutive win in the technicals, firmly placing herself at the top of the rankings. Meanwhile, in the men’s division, Christian Andersen from Denmark took the victory.

The second day once again saw Spanish athletes take center stage. Frey claimed the top spot once more with a win in the sprint races. In the men’s sprint, it was Sergio Cantoral who emerged victorious, earning the crown.
