From 19 to 21 June, the third stop of the circuit will bring together elite competition, open participation, international clinics and a unique setting in Richterswil, on the southern shore of Lake Zurich.
The European SUP League 2026 enters a new phase of the season with the celebration of the Big Paddle Festival 2026, taking place from 19 to 21 June on Lake Zurich, with its main hub in Richterswil, one of the most iconic locations on the lake’s southern shore.
Following the opening block of the season in Santa Pola (Spain) and Taranto (Italy), the European circuit now moves into the heart of Europe with an event that combines the highest competitive level of the ESL with a strong focus on participation, community and the wider SUP lifestyle. The Big Paddle Festival arrives as the third official stop of the European SUP League 2026, while also forming part of the Swiss paddle ecosystem through the Swiss Paddle Cup and the SupSuisse Tour.
Richterswil & Lake Zurich
A unique setting for European SUP
The host venue offers a particularly attractive location for stand up paddle. Richterswil, located on the southern shore of Lake Zurich, stands out for its lakeside promenade, small harbour, nearby islands and open views across the lake and towards the Alpine landscape.
This scenery makes the Swiss event one of the most distinctive stops on the calendar, bringing together competition, nature, accessibility and a true festival atmosphere.

The rankings arrive in Zurich with several battles wide open
Donato Freens arrives in Zurich as the solid leader of the overall ranking with 1,392 points. His consistency in Santa Pola and his dominant performance in Taranto — where he won both the technical and long distance races — have allowed him to build a significant advantage at the top of the standings.
Behind him, the battle for the podium looks especially interesting. Filippo Mercuriali (2nd, 994 pts) and Nicolò Vincenzo Ricco (3rd, 913 pts) remain closely matched. The sprint format may also prove decisive for Shuri Araki (4th, 850 pts) and Sergio Cantoral (5th, 794 pts).
